GCHA (Gravesend Churches Housing Association), was formed in 1964 by members of the local churches who recognised the need for affordable rented housing in the area. GCHA has grown slowly and steadily over the years since and has established itself locally as a valued part of the voluntary community.
About Us
We are an Industrial and Provident Society (No 16849) with charitable status operating on a 'not for profit' basis. We are registered with the Tenant Services Authority which regulates housing associations. Our registration number is LH0870. GCHA has a genuine commitment to homes and people. The association manages over 550 homes in Gravesham, Dartford and Maidstone. We also provide supported housing for young people and purpose build housing for people with learning and physical disabilities. We are proud to work closely with North Kent Women's Aid in providing accommodation and support for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
The Board
GCHA is governed by a board that is responsible for setting the direction of the organisation and monitoring our ongoing performance. Each member of the strategic board brings a specific skill or area of expertise to ensure that we create a balanced and effective team. Board members are elected and do not receive any remuneration for their work. If you are interested in becoming a board member of GCHA we are always interested in new people from a wide range of backgrounds. Please write to the Chief Executive with your details.
